For me, this case was the perfect sice. It was compact enough to be easily portable and able to put in other bags, but large enough to be able to hold my camcorder (a Canon HG21), an extra battery, all the cables needed to connect the camcorder to a TV and/or computer, the external powersupply for the camcorder, SD cards, batter charger, and a few more odds and ends. The material and zippers seem well made. The padding should also be enough for any drops from waist height (haven't tested that and hope I won't have to).
The only complaint I have for the case is that there is a double velcroopening for the main compartment that you have to undo along with opening the zippers to get to the camcorder. I understand that this was deemed necessary to be able to use the carrying handle on top without the bag possibly openin while being carried, but it is a little annoying to have to fuss with it every time you try to get into the bag. It is minor enough a concern for me that I still will keep my rating of the bag at 5 stars .

Well made. Just right size for the camera and charging brick. Side pocket to hold extra support junk.
